Snickers was adopted at a Petsmart in Garland, August 2011. His foster mother graciously took care of him for a week after the adoption while my family was on vacation. He fit into our family very well with two other dogs and a cat. He is super friendly, loving, and loyal. Snickers is truly my best friend.

Miss Gypsy
Thank you Metroplex Mutts for my beagle mix Gypsy, whom I adopted in August 2011. She has been just a tremendous addition to my household, which includes an older dog named Jimmy. Gypsy has the sweetest personality and is incredibly affectionate with everyone she meets (she's a bit notorious for trying to "French kiss" friends and family alike). She especially loves the backyard, where she spends time either laying in the sun or serving as Jimmy's backup in barking at squirrels. Gypsy also enjoys her daily walks! Thank you for rescuing Miss Gypsy; I cannot imagine my life without her and truly think it a miracle that you saved her from certain death.

Toshi and Sakura: A two year update
It has been two years now since we meet our beautiful dogs. Toshi and Sakura have enriched our lives since the day we got them. The changes we have seen in them show us we must be doing something right! Sakura knows just how to get up on the couch with a few loving looks (sly dog). And Toshi, who never sits still long enough to stay on the couch, is much more confident then he used to be. Last year when we had our daughter we hoped they would love her too, and as the year progressed all my worries quickly melted away. I can't wait till Kara is old enough to start playing with them and chasing them around the yard. Anytime they happen to be close enough to play with, she starts giggling at them and petting them. If they so happen to be on the other side of the baby gate, she shares her toys with them and they give her kisses. The truth is wonderful, she loves them and they love her. It has made us so happy to see our house filled with love and laughter. There is no doubt that Toshi
and Sakura complete our home!!

Ellie (formerly Sparkles)
Hi everybody! This is Ellie, but you probably remember me as "Sparkles." I was picked up by DAS before Metroplex Mutts saved me and the nice people at Pooch Patio watched over me until I was adopted. This is an updated photo... Do you even recognize me? I am so cute and my new mommy loves me. Thanks for helping me find my forever home!

Sophie's Tail of gratitude
Sophie's Tail of Gratitude
My story begins on a cold November day. I was running around on a busy Dallas street. I was scared, cold, hungry and pregnant. I wasn't sure how I ended up on the streets, but a nice lady who was driving by saw me and picked me up. She gave me a bath, fixed my hair which was a mess and told me she wanted to keep me but she had too many pets already. She struggled with the decision but ended up calling DAS to come and get me.
I am not sure how long I was at DAS but I was very close to having my puppies. Lucky for me Metroplex Mutts came to my rescue. I had my puppies shortly after being rescued and that is when I met my foster mom Joanna. I could tell my luck was beginning to change. It takes a very special person to take care of a mommy and pups and my foster mom knew exactly what to do to keep us healthy and happy. My puppies started to grow up and I had recovered from my lady surgery and it was time for us to find our forever homes.
I went to a Metroplex Mutts event one night. The theme was Mardi Gras, and I was asked to be in the parade. I had my own float, felt like a princess and I knew exactly how to get the crowd's attention. It was in that crowd that I caught my future mom's eye. We met...I wasn't sure what to make of her but she seemed to really be into me... She told me later that it was love at first sight.
The lady from the party adopted me. It was very hard leaving my foster mom, I loved her very much and I know now how difficult it must've been to let go of my pups and I. She is such a wonderful and selfless person, I know she needed to do this in order to give another family like us a chance.
A few months later I went for my first haircut. The groomer recognized me immediately. As it turns out, my groomer was the lady who rescued me from the street on that cold November day. We were very happy to see each other and we now see each other every few months. It's a small world isn't it?
I have also seen my foster mom since I got adopted. It's always good to see her and I will forever be thankful for the love and care she gave us.
This holiday season, I just wanted to thank everyone who works and volunteers for Metroplex Mutts. If it wasn't for you who knows what would've happened my family. I want to thank Trish and Joanna in particular for being so good to me and for making sure my mom and I were a good match for each other so we could be together forever. I also want to thank everyone who donates their time and money to Metroplex Mutts. Without your time and donations they would not be able to do all the wonderful things they have done and continue to do for doggies that are down on their luck like I was. You all have given me and many others a second chance at life and happiness.
Finally, I want to thank everyone at Metroplex Mutts on behalf of my mom. She adores me and can't imagine her life without me.
From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you for all that you do each and every day to help doggies in need of a second chance.
Happy Holidays!
Love,
Sophie

Happy Holidays from Lexi "Mumbles" and family
I'm Lexi, formerly Mumbles, and I was adopted Aug. 2010 at about 8 months old. I'm now a beautiful, almost grown-up girl! I get stopped on the street all the time so that people can tell me how much they like my highlights. I am still as playful as ever though and will always be a kid at heart. Happy Holidays!
