The Show Stopper!

Gage's new family sent in this update today. . .

"He's a show stopper ... EVERYWHERE we go we are stopped by folks who want to know what kind of dog he is, where he came from, etc. No one can believe he was a shelter dog and almost died.!"

"He's doing great, is pushing 90 pounds now, and is a happy, healthy, dopey boy! In addition, we're fostering a very good natured Anatolian Shepherd and Gage is thrilled to have him for the time being.! They're comparable in size and keep each other in check. They are big pals."

And from the looks of these pictures, Gage (formerly Stryker) is loving being spoiled!

Deuce Adopted a Family!

Deuce's dream came true on Saturday and he was adopted into his forever home with everything he ever wanted ... kids to play with, a doggie sibling, and a big yard for his frisbie games! The kids already searched out just the right frisbie for him to have waiting for him when he arrived.

Deuce had been treated for level four heart worms after being surrendered by his owner at a kill shelter. He was anemic and spent almost six months in his foster home ... at first recovering from the treatment and then just waiting patiently for the right family to come along. And come along they did. Though it happened in a round about way, this was truly one of those things that was meant to be. He has already bonded with his new family and absolutely adores the kids. He greeted Belinda, his new Mom, with lots of wet doggie kisses. It was a match made in heaven, and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving dog. Have a wonderful life Deuce!

Hey, I'm Chance

I was a sad little dog, left outside without companionship because the family couldn't care for me. This really nice lady read about me on readlarrypowell.com and called Metroplex Mutts to ask if they would take me into their program if she would foster. So now here I am, having the time of my life - I even got to go to doggie daycare today! With the help of my foster brother, I have learned how to use the doggie door and I haven't had an accident in the house since then. I'm also crate trained and I love to spend quiet time there. I would really like to have some children and other dogs to play with. I'm a little guy, so I don't take up much room. I sure would like to spend this Christmas at your house - and every Christmas after - if you adopt me!

Happy Holidays,
Chance

Uptown Boy

Alfie moved to Uptown Dallas in early July and has taken to his new urban lifestyle quite easily. His multistoried townhome offers incredible bird watching and squirrel viewing opportunities as well as a wide variety of hiding places for treats and treasures. He often excercises on the Katy Trail and has made friends all over the neighborhood. I wonder if he ever gets tired of hearing "cute dog" from total strangers? When not enjoying the amenities of Uptown or frolicking in the local dog parks you can catch him Downtown roughhousing with his buddies at The Petropolitan. He is one happy boy and a true Metroplex Mutts success story. We can't imagine life without him!

Ruff aka "Ace"

Tyler and I adopted Ruff (aka Ace) in August of 2009. We first read about him online and fell in love. We had been considering adopting for a while and hadn't found the perfect dog yet. We have another dog, Rowdy, a cairn terrier who desperately needed a playmate. After a few weeks of emailing back and forth, we finally got to meet him and we both immediately knew that this was the perfect dog for us. Trish brought him over to meet Rowdy at our house and they immediately bonded and became buddies. After that, we knew we had to keep him. He is the most gently, sweetest, loving dog but very protective of me. We changed his name from Ace to Ruff because we felt like he needed a fresh start. It took him a good couple of weeks to warm up to Tyler and he still to this day doesn't like the sounds of any type of siren. We've fattened him up a little and he has turned into a very handsome dog.

We are so thankful to Metroplex Mutts and the loving people that cared for Ruff! It was a joy to work with them and we recommend them to all of my friends looking for dogs!

Deuce is available for adoption!

Hey! My name is Deuce. I love to play ball and I love to run. I also love rough housing with my border collie foster brother, and my herding instincts are starting to come out! I still love to be with people more than dogs though - I just can't get enough attention. I do like to follow you wherever might go. My person left me at the shelter and didn't return and I'm worried about getting left behind, so be careful when you turn around or you might step on me! Treats are my new favorite thing, though stuffed toys and balls and frisbees are a close second. And I love to eat! I was not getting enough food at my other home, so I love knowing that I get fed twice a day! I know how to sit, shake and lay down, and I come when you call me, so I've got lots of good things going for me. I'm crate trained and house-broken, too. I sure would like to have a permanent home to call my own. Would you be willing to share? Love, Deuce

Deuce is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered. Please contact us at Tricia (metroplexmutts@tx.rr.com) for more information about this wonderful companion animal.

Meet Olivia!

I'm Olivia! Look at my new photos, done by a professional photographer! Maybe I can be a model and earn some extra biscuits. I was abandoned on the streets and was very frightened when I was taken in by a rescue group. But now I'm feeling secure and I'm coming into my own. I get along well wlth other dogs and cats and I LOVE treats. I have a clean bill of health and I'm actively looking for a forever person to share my life with. Really, with me looking so pretty in these pictures, how could you possibly pass me by? Love, Livvy
